Waste Analysis Data Visualization

Identifying intravenous push waste transactions in your institution.

To get a more focused look at the waste activities that occur in your institution, you can independently generate reports from your automated dispensing system, which will provide the necessary information to populate Waste Analysis Data Visualization chart in this next step.

We've created a video tutorial that will walk you through the steps needed.

Data Needed

For each drug that you want to represent you will need:

  • Total Waste Transaction
    This number can be found in Step 3 of the waste tutorial video, labeled as Grand Total under the Count of WasteAmount column. This value must be entered in the "Total Waste Events" field.
  • Total Waste Transactions for the Optimal Product Size
    You can find this number in Step 3 of the waste tutorial video, located under the "Count of WasteAmount" column within the row that corresponds to the presentation size. This value should be entered in the "Waste Events (qty)" field for each presentation size you are using.
